After Hours at Brookside
Party like its 1949! Join us for a once in a lifetime event. Enjoy exquisite food and cocktails by Lily and the Rose, sultry jazz by Jeanine Ouderkirk and amazing artwork in an atmosphere evoking the Madison Avenue Fashion world of the ’40s and ’50s 8/10/17 at the Brookside Museum. Tickets also available night of party.
Bradford J. Smith, Brookside’s most famous – and colorful – occupant, came to Ballston Spa after an illustrious career as a photographer in New York City during the 1940s and 1950s.
By day, fashion photos for Harper’s Bazaar. By night, nude portraits of aspiring actresses.
Bradford’s (now) vintage photography will be shown in an atmosphere evoking those early days of Madison Avenue’s advertising “mad men”.
This is a golden opportunity to own a piece of history as vintage prints will go to Heritage Auction House photography auction in October 2017.
Sale of these one-of-a-kind vintage photos will benefit the Saratoga County Historical Society @ Brookside Museum.
Soiree, Thursday, August 10, 2017
